We're happy to announce that we have partnered with DHH to become the default voice solution on Omarchy.

When DHH set out to build Omarchy, the goal was an opinionated Linux desktop that just works out of the box, without spending your weekend debugging dotfiles.

Starting today, Superwhisper is Omarchy's default voice input layer. It comes pre-installed on new x86_64 installations, wired directly into system shortcuts and ready on first boot.

Superwhisper becomes the default for Omarchy in green and gold pixel lettering on a dark background.

How it fits into Omarchy

Omarchy manages the recording shortcuts and loads Superwhisper's integration automatically, with zero manual Hyprland configuration needed.

Hold F9 to talk, or use Super + Ctrl + X to toggle recording. Your transcribed text drops into whichever terminal, editor, or browser window is active.

Superwhisper starts in the cloud, so it works the moment you install it. The first 10,000 words are free. You can also switch to a free downloadable model that runs entirely on your machine, without sending a word to anyone. If you prefer another local option, Voxtype is still available.

Oh yeah, we also gave Superwhisper for Linux a whole new design that feels native to the OS. You'll see in settings an all new "edge glow" effect for dictation which we're really stoked about. When you talk, the window you're typing into glows around the edges, so you know exactly where the text will show up.

If you are running Omarchy, you already have Superwhisper. Hold F9 and start talking.
