How it works

An audio to text converter that runs on real speech models

This tool uses the same speech recognition that powers Superwhisper, our dictation app for Mac, Windows, and iPhone. Your file is decoded in your browser, sent once to our transcription servers, and the audio is discarded as soon as the text comes back.

It handles meeting recordings, interviews, lectures, voice memos, and podcast clips. Background noise and crosstalk reduce accuracy for any transcription system, but clear single-speaker audio comes back nearly word for word.

Files up to 10 minutes work here in the browser. For longer recordings, speaker labels, or fully offline transcription, the desktop app does all of that without a length cap.

Beyond files

Type less everywhere, not just here

Transcribing a file is usually a one-off. The bigger win is replacing typing altogether.

Superwhisper puts a hotkey on your keyboard that turns speech into clean, formatted text in any app: email, Slack, docs, code editors, anywhere a cursor blinks.

Most people speak three to four times faster than they type. Try the words per minute test to see your own numbers.
