Key differences
Both apps turn speech into clean text across your apps. The split is where audio is processed, which platforms are covered, and how you pay.

Key differences
Offline and privacy
Typeless processes audio on its servers. Its data controls page says transcription runs in the cloud for accuracy and speed, and its own FAQ says dictation needs an internet connection. It states zero data retention and that audio is discarded after the result returns.
On macOS, Windows, and iPhone, Superwhisper can run speech recognition entirely on your device with a local model, so audio stays there and no connection is needed. Android uses cloud models only. Recordings are saved locally by default, with auto-delete available.
Platforms
Typeless covers Linux, which Superwhisper does not. If you dictate on a Linux desktop, Typeless is the option here. Both run on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android.
Pricing
Typeless Pro is $12 a month billed yearly or $30 a month billed monthly. Superwhisper Pro is $8.49 a month or $84.99 a year, and a $249.99 lifetime license is available.
Typeless doesn't list a number for its free weekly word cap on the pricing page. Superwhisper's free tier doesn't expire.
Editing and modes
Typeless can edit selected text by voice, translate as you speak, and answer questions about selected text. Superwhisper has modes with custom instructions you write and choose a model for, plus file transcription for audio and video on macOS and Windows (Pro).
Developer experience
On desktop, Superwhisper works system-wide, so it works in any IDE or terminal.
Where Typeless does well
Typeless handles self-corrections well: it keeps only your final wording and removes filler words. It also covers Linux and mixes languages in one sentence. If you want a cloud tool with light-touch editing, it is a good fit.
