Why choose Superwhisper

Keep processing on your Mac

Superwhisper lets you choose local models for the transcript and summary. Speaker separation runs on your Mac too, so you can finish a meeting offline once the models are downloaded.

Wispr Notetaker uses cloud providers for transcription and summaries. Its policy deletes uploaded audio after seven days; completed transcripts and summaries remain until deletion or a retention policy removes them.

Choose the speech and summary models

Pick the speech model that transcribes your meeting and the language model that writes the notes. Superwhisper supports local and cloud options, plus compatible private language model endpoints on Enterprise.

Wispr manages the providers for its meeting processing and does not list a local model option. Superwhisper gives you the choice to keep a sensitive conversation on your own computer.

Use meeting notes with your AI apps

Connect your Superwhisper meeting library to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or another MCP app. Export Markdown, create a share link, or open Slack or Notion and drag in the summary.

Wispr also supports MCP, questions across past meetings, and live catch-up. Both can connect your notes to other tools; Superwhisper also lets you keep recording and processing fully local when you do not use those connections.

Check the BAA restriction before choosing Wispr

Wispr says a signed personal or organization BAA blocks Notetaker recording. Dictation remains available, but that account cannot use Wispr for meetings.

Superwhisper offers a local-only setup. Its compliance docs say no BAA with Superwhisper is required for local-only models, and describe a BAA for Superwhisper cloud models. Confirm the approved setup and covered services with your organization before handling PHI.
